Cosmetic Surgery for Men

in Dallas, Texas

More and more men are seeking cosmetic surgery each year to correct some of the troublesome body areas that women have been having fixed for decades. For years, cosmetic surgery has been seen as a "female fix" to problem areas, and men have been reluctant and embarrassed to seek out the help of a cosmetic surgeon.

However, nowadays, men are becoming increasingly aware of the values of cosmetic surgery, and many men are realizing that a youthful appearance and looking fit can be important in both business and society in general. Regardless of gender, having a negative self-image can affect all aspects of your life and ruin your self-confidence.

Today we live in a world where health and fitness are major priorities.  Eating right, proper exercise and total body health are important factors in our everyday lives. In an effort to remain healthy and young looking, many men have turned to cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, facelifts and tummy tucks. Dr. Rai and the staff at the Cosmetic Surgical Center in Dallas, Texas have been performing a variety of procedures on men for years and would be happy to explain what we have to offer to you, too.

Even though many of the same cosmetic surgery procedures performed on women can be performed on men, the goal of surgery may differ dramatically between the two sexes.  And because of the composition of a man's body, there are many technical differences and unique circumstances.  For example, men’s bodies tend to store fat in different areas, and signs of aging surface differently in men than in women.

It takes a highly skilled surgeon like Dr. Rai to perfect these procedures and specifically tailor them for men.  Our staff members have extensive experience working with men, and we know what it takes to help you meet your goals.

Men and Breast Surgery
Many men experience a condition called gynecomastia, where fatty tissue and breast tissue cause enlargement of the breasts. The condition usually starts in men in adolescence and does not respond to diet and exercise. The surgery for gynecomastia is probably the most common operation sought by men.

In cases where the enlargement is due to excess fatty tissue, liposuction can usually treat the condition. If the cause is excess breast tissue, a subcutaneous mastectomy may be the best option for removal.  In this operation, the breast tissue is actually cut out.  After treatment, men can then develop the pectoral muscles without the camouflaging effect of the enlarged breasts.  If your gynecomastia is associated with an abdominal pouch and love handles, it may be best to treat all three areas at the same time.

Men and Eyelid Surgery
Many men realize the importance of eye contact in business and social situations.   That’s why a large percentage of our patients are blepharoplasty patients. Our blepharoplasty procedure helps minimize the excess skin and fat that can be caused by aging or heredity. Conditions like hooding, puffiness, extra skin, and sagging can be corrected with this safe and effective procedure.
